Sunline Has First Foal, by Rock of Gibraltar

Sunline delivered her first foal, a bay filly by Rock Of Gibraltar, at Cambridge Stud in New Zealand's Waikato region early Oct 18.

Cambridge Stud manager Marcus Corban reported a straightforward foaling for the 9-year-old former champion New Zealand distaffer. "They're both well and the filly is reasonably well-sized and a nice first foal," he said.

The Desert Sun daughter won 27 graded races including 13 group Is and earned $11.7 million (Australian funds) before her retirement from the track in late 2002. She is scheduled to be mated with Cambridge's leading sire Zabeel.
