B.A. Way Routs Foes in Caesar Rodney 'Cap

Diane Perkin's B.A. Way rallied to victory in the $200,000 Caesar Rodney Handicap at Delaware Park Saturday.
Ridden by Abel Castellano, the 4-year-old son of Lasting Approval won by 2 1/4 lengths and covered the 1 1/8-mile event on a yielding turf course in 1:53.43.
Gran Cesare, with Oliver Castillo astride, finished second after setting early fractions of :50.67 for the half mile and 1:15.30 for the three-quarters of a mile. Foufa's Warrior, with Jose Caraballo aboard, finished third, beaten by 4 1/2 lengths by the winner.
B.A. Way returned $4.00 as the favorite in the field of five.
The Kentucky-bred trained by Richard Violette raised his career record to five wins from 16 outings with earnings of $290,756.
