Will's Way, whose victory in the 1997 Whitney Handicap (gr. I) over
Formal Gold and
Skip Away resulted in a 126 Beyer Speed Figure, the co-highest figure from 1992 through 2003, has been moved to Dr. William Solomon's Pin Oak Lane Farm near New Freedom, Pa. His fee will be $3,500 live foal.
Will's Way's stakes winners are led by Lion Tamer, who captured this year's Commonwealth Breeders' Cup (gr. II) and Formal Gold Stakes and the Richter Scale Breeders' Cup Sprint Championship Handicap (gr. II). Last year, he won the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II). Overall, seven of Will's Way's runners have won or placed in stakes and the earnings for all his progeny is $2.7 million. This year alone, his runners have earned $1.3 million.
A son of Easy Goer, Will's Way also won the Travers Stakes (gr. I) and retired with 11 wins and placings from 13 starts and earnings of $954,400. He is a half-brother to grade I winner Willa On the Move and successful Maryland sire Citidance.
