Edited from Hawthorne reportsTrainer Michael Stidham's Herculated leads the field for Saturday's $150,000 Robert F. Carey Memorial (gr. IIIT) at Hawthorne. To be contested at mile on turf, a field of nine has been assembled for this race.
Leading the way in the Carey is 7-2 morning line favorite Herculated, a 4-year-old gelding looking for his seventh career win in his 11th career start. Herculated has been away from the races since Aug. 7 when he posted a half-length victory in the Sea O'Erin Breeders' Cup Handicap at Arlington at the same mile distance. Ridden by C.H. Marquez Jr., Herculated looks to make it four-for-four at this mile distance.
Kentucky shipper G P Fleet comes in with on-the-board finishes in five of seven on the year, with a victory in the Tri State Handicap on the turf at Ellis Park in his last. Trained by Steve Flint and ridden by Rafael Mojica, G P Fleet is the second choice in the morning line at 4-1.
