(from Oak Tree at Santa Anita notes)Jockey Rene Douglas says he's excited to be riding again on a regular basis in Southern California after an absence of some eight years.
"Things are looking great," the 37-year-old native of Panama said. "I'm happy to be here. I'm seeing people I haven't seen in a long time. I'm the same guy only more serious and more focused than I was when I rode here in 1996.
"My last six years in the Chicago area have been great but I'm happy to be back. I'm going to try hard and do my best doing what I love to do, which is ride horses."
Douglas needs 68 wins to reach the 3,000 milestone. Entering the Oak Tree meet, he had 2,932 victories.
