An upcoming exhibit at the State Museum of Pennsylvania will feature a section dedicated to Smarty Jones, including his famed Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) trophies and excerpts from a new film documentary.

"Out in Front: Smarty Jones and Horse Racing in Pennsylvania" opens Nov. 16 and continues through April 3, 2005. After closing at The State Museum, portions of the exhibition will travel to other venues throughout the Commonwealth.

Through photographs, artifacts, and memorabilia, the exhibit aims to give visitors a glimpse into the world of horseracing and a behind-the-scenes look at Smarty Jones and his connections.

In addition to the Smarty Jones section, the three-part exhibit features a brief history of horse racing in Pennsylvania from colonial times to the present as well as a glimpse of contemporary horse racing in the state.
