Keeneland will catalog 4,460 horses for its 61st annual November breeding stock sale. The 12-day sale in Lexington will begin on Monday, Nov. 8 and continue through Friday, Nov. 19. Sessions will begin at 10 a.m. (EST) each day. At the conclusion of the first session, Keeneland will sell 49 horses consigned by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency on the behalf of the Estate of John Franks.
The catalog will be comprised of 2,260 broodmares, 1,950 weanlings, 244 horses of racing age, and six stallions.
Last year, Keeneland cataloged 4,001 horses for an 11-day sale.
"Based on the strength of the (Keeneland) September sale (which had a world-record gross) and the quality of the broodmares and weanlings cataloged for November, there's every reason to be optimistic," said Geoffrey Russell, Keeneland's director of sales.
