Multiple graded stakes winner Chapel Royal, a leading 2-year-old last year, has been retired due to injury to Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky.

MontbrookâCut Class Leanne, by Cutlass was a $1.2 million 2-year-old select purchase at the OBS Calder Sale in 2003. The Florida bred won three straight to begin his career in smashing style for the partnership of Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor, including the Flash (gr. III) and Sanford (gr. II). He was runner-up in both the Hopeful (gr. I) and Champagne (gr. I) prior to his third-place finish in last fall's Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I).Trained by Todd Pletcher, Chapel Royal retires with three wins in eight starts and earnings of $495,571.
