South African stallion Rambo Dancer, who was purchased by Darley Stud Management for $2.6 million at the 1985 Keeneland July yearling sale, has died after covering a mare at Summerhill Stud in South Africa. Owned by Sheikh Maktoum's Gainsborough, the son of Northern Dancer out of the Chateaugay mare Fair Arabella was 20.

Rambo Dancer won four of 18 starts in England and North America, including the 1989 Red Smith Handicap (gr. IIT) at Belmont Park. He retired to Hunsley House Stud in East Yorkshire, England before relocating to Summerhill Stud in Kwazulu-Natal ahead of the 1998 season.

His best European performer was English/Irish group winner Ramooz and his tops in South Africa were group winners Major Hero, Royal Mariner, Bianconi, Dignify, and Rambo's Jewel.
Rambo Dancer was bred by E.P. Taylor.
