Graded stakes-placed Brushed On has been retired from racing and will enter stud at Everett and Evelyn Schoenborn's Clermont Farm near Germantown, N.Y. The 6-year-old son of Broad Brush was retired because of a suspensory injury in his left front leg. His fee is $2,000 live foal.
Brushed On, who was produced from the Conquistador Cielo mare Monoprint, captured 11 of 39 races. His seven stakes-placings included a second-place finish in the Gravesend Handicap (gr. III) and a third-place effort in the Bold Ruler Handicap (gr. III) behind Kelly Kip and Artax. Brushed On won what would his final race, an allowance event at Aqueduct on Dec. 13 for Ocean Blue Stable, to boost his career earnings to $424,514.
