Trainer Jennifer Pedersen held on misdemeanor charges.
New York trainer Jennifer Pedersen was arrested Friday at her Aqueduct barn and charged with third-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, after chasing a former employee with a pitchfork, according to New York police.
Pedersen, who has trained privately for Ernie Paragallo's Paraneck Stable since 2001, charged former employee Juan Martinez, a groom who now works for another stable, and "stated she was going to kill him," New York police detective Brian Sessa told the
Daily Racing Form.
Pederson, 41, did not strike Martinez with the pitchfork, police said. She was being held Friday evening at the 1096th precinct in Queens pending arraignment.
