Jeff Lifson, an analyst, host, and reporter with TVG since the racing network went on the air in 1999, has joined West Point Thoroughbreds as vice president for Midwest operations.Lifson will assume his new position next Monday, Sept. 20, but will remain with TVG through the Keeneland fall race meet. Lifson said specifics of his role with TVG between now and the end of the Keeneland meet have not been determined, including whether he would be involved with "The Works" shows leading up to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships at Lone Star Park."We're just growing and have had an influx of clients," said Terry Finley, West Point founder and president. "We have a good core group of people, but guys like Jeff, with his background, are not available very often."Lifson said was not dissatisfied with TVG, but the West Point position will enable him to become more involved in the horse industry."It is an incredible opportunity," Lifson said. "West Point is a first-rate partnership program and they want to expand. Now, I am going to feel like an 'insider.' TVG was a great place to work and I am going to miss the people there. They (TVG Network) are going to be here forever."Previous to joining TVG, Lifson was with WHAS-TV in Louisville, Ky., where his positions included sports director and weekend anchor.
