Peter F. Karches' Seducer's Song rolled to the lead at the top of the stretch and held off the late challenge of Go Robin to post a half-length victory in the $150,000 Boiling Springs Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
Trained by Christophe Clement, Seducer's Song covered the 1 1/16 mile over a turf course rated "good" in 1:45 3/5 and returned $4, $3 and $2.10 as the odds-on favorite. Go Robin completed a $33 exacta and paid $6 and $2.60. River Belle was another half-length back in third and paid $2.20.
Winning rider Joe Bravo offered no comment following the victory. Bravo took off his mount, Sweetsoutherndessa, in the race prior to the Boiling Springs, the Mongo Queen Stakes, after being unseated by that filly at the starting gate.
The Boiling Springs win marked the fourth win in eight starts for Seducer's Song, a 3-year-old filly by
Unbridled's Song from the Housebuster mare Seducer. She has now earned $239,760 for her owner.
