New Zealand Bloodstock has announced its plans to conduct four extra auction sales a year in response to owners and breeders expressing interest in having more opportunities to buy and sell mixed bloodstock. Four low-cost mixed bloodstock sales are planned for Karaka in November, March, June and September. The first of the new sales will be held this year on November 26.

NZ Bloodstock's marketing manager Petrea Vela said the Nov. 26 auction will "test the water".

"If there is genuine demand for sales of this nature then we expect that they will become a regular feature on our calendar," she said.

The entry fee will be $NZ125 (approximately $81 in U.S. funds) plus GST, making the sales an economical alternative to putting lesser value stock through the existing NZB sales. Entries for the Nov. 26 sale will be accepted up to sale day.
