Joseph and Mary Platt have retired their grade I winner Nonsuch Bay and plan to sell her at the Keeneland November breeding stok sale.
Bred by Sabine Stable, the 5-year-old Mr. Greeley mare won or placed in 16 stakes while trained her entire career by Frank Alexander. As a 3-year-old in 2002, she won the Mother Goose (gr. I) and Nassau County Breeders' Cup (gr. II) Stakes, both at Belmont Park. This year, she won the Banshee Breeze Handicap at Gulfstream Park for the second consecutive year.
Produced from the Light Idea mare Brighter Than Gold, Nonsuch Bay retired with seven wins from 27 starts and earnings of $747,078.
