Kentucky lawmakers will meet to discuss what the state's most recognizable industry--horse farming--means to the Bluegrass economy.

The Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources will meet Sept. 8 at the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington at 12:30 p.m. EDT. The meeting will feature a presentation on the Kentucky Equine Education Project and a discussion by Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet Secretary LaJuana Wilcher on the reorganization order that created cabinet.

Lawmakers will be escorted on a tour of Pennbrook and Spring Wood horse farms after the meeting. Three subcommittees--horse farming, rural issues, and natural resources--will meet at the Horse Park from 10-11 a.m.
