L'Agence Francaise reported increases in gross revenue and average price Wednesday following the final session of its four-day August yearling sale. The 373 horses sold grossed 28,491,000 euros (approximately $34,189,200 in U.S. funds) and averaged 76,383 euros ($91,660). The format for the sale this year was changed from five days to four.
The top-priced yearling sold in the final session was a Pivotal colt out of the winning Phantom Breeze mare Peony Girl, who brought 120,000 euros ($144,000). French bloodstock agent Laurent Benoit of the Broadhurst Agency purchased him from Neustrian Associates (Haras du Buff).
