Three account wagering providers that hub through Oregon set all-time records for a three-month period in the second quarter of 2004, according to statistics provided by the Oregon Racing Commission.
The TV Games Network led the way with $88,552,031, the highest amount since $64,160,757 was wagered in the third quarter of 2003. Youbet.com handled $82,197,918 in the second quarter, up from the previous record of $70,456,519 in the first quarter of this year. AmericaTAB handled $32,776,984, up from the previous record of $27,573,330 set in the third quarter of 2003.
Oneclickbetting.com (The Racing Channel) handled $25,830,510 in the second quarter of 2004, while US Off-Track, which offers primarily Greyhound racing, handled $5,395,295. Handle through Oneclickbetting.com peaked at $65,296,996 in the fourth quarter of 2003 but has dropped substantially because The Racing Channel went off the air in Great Britain early this year.
Total handle through the Oregon hubs for the second quarter was $234,752,738, up 5.3% from $222,218,31 in the second quarter of 2003. The second quarter of each year includes the three Triple Crown events, which produce big wagering days.
The second quarter of 2002 was the first all five companies operated through the Oregon hub.
