Grade II winner Soto, who sustained an injury while second to Ten Most Wanted in last year's Super Derby (gr. II), has been retired from racing. Prior to the Super Derby, Soto (Dehere--Subtle Fragrance, by
Crafty Prospector) had won all five of his races, including the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) and the West Virginia Derby (gr. III) in track-record time. Bred by Domino Stud of Lexington, the 4-year-old colt exited racing from those six starts with earnings of $666,164 for owner Galopp and trainer Michael Dickinson.
A decision will be made later where he will enter stud.
