(from Monmouth Park report)Rock Hard Ten, who finished sixth in last Sunday's Haskell Invitational (gr. I) as the favorite, will finally be going home on Sunday.
The colt became ill after the race. A post-race endoscopic examination revealed copious mucus. Trainer Jason Orman opted to keep Rock Hard Ten at Monmouth instead of shipping him back to California on Tuesday.
Groom Jose Mejia, who has been with Rock hard Ten since he arrived at Monmouth on Aug. 4, said the colt appeared to be recovered. He was scheduled to be shipped home on Sunday.
