Andrew Skehan, who previously served as Churchill Downs Inc.'s chief marketing officer, has been named the company's chief operating officer. He will assume his new position immediately and report directly to CDI's president and chief executive officer Thomas Meeker.

In his new role, Skehan will oversee all operations for CDI's live racing and off-track betting facilities, the Churchill Downs Simulcast Network, and the corporate sales, marketing, and community relations departments. Additionally, Skehan will continue to manage CDI's Customer Relationship Management initiative and related business-change-management processes.

Skehan has an array of experience in business operations, product-development, and marketing, having previously served in top operational posts with such corporations as Nabisco, PepsiCo, and KFC. During his five-year tenure with CDI, Skehan managed the operational build out, sales strategy, and product launch of CDSN, and expanded the company's player-rewards program, the Twin Spires Club. The Twin Spires Club includes five CDI racetracks and 12 OTBs, which now provide service to more than 200,000 members.

He also implemented a company-wide branding initiative, integrated marketing efforts across all operations, and spearheaded the ongoing CRM initiative, which will revolutionize the way all company employees interact with, and provide service to, their customers.
