Medaglia d'Oro to Begin Stud Career for $35,000

Millionaire Medaglia d'Oro, a three-time grade I winner who was retired to John Sikura's Hill 'n' Dale Farm near Lexington, will begin his stallion career in 2005 for a fee of $35,000. Twice runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), Medaglia d'Oro finished first or second in 15 of 17 starts and earned $5,754,720.

One of 52 stakes winners sired by El Prado, Medaglia d'Oro was a grade I winner three consecutive years. He won the Travers Stakes (gr. I) and the Whitney (gr. I) and Donn (gr. I) Handicaps. His runner-up efforts included placings in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) and Emirates Airlines Dubai World Cup (UAE-I).

Five-year-old Medaglia d'Oro, who was produced from the Bailjumper mare Cappucino Bay, was bought at the conclusion of his racing career by Audrey Haisfield.
