Tap Day, Pie's Prospect Added to Haskell Field

Tap Day and Pie's Prospect were added to Sunday's $1-million Haskell Invitiational Handicap (gr. I) at Monmouth Park bring the total field to seven starters.

The two new starters will carry 116 pounds in the 1 1/8-mile Haskell. Grade I winner Lion Heart will be the highweight at 121 pounds, with grade II winner Rock Hard Ten at 120. The other expected starters include Royal Assault 117, My Snookie's Boy 116, and Wimplestillskin, 116.

Rock Hard Ten and Wimplestiltskin, both stabled at Del Mar, were due to arrive at Monmouth Wednesday afternoon. Tap Day and My Snookie's Boy are stabled at Monmouth, while Lion Heart, Royal Assault, and Pie's Prospect will all ship from Saratoga the morning of the race.

Tap Day won an allowance event at Monmouth on July 2 and earlier in the year he won the Dave Feldman Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Pie's Prospect was third last out in the Leonard Richards Stakes (gr. III) at Delaware Park, where he won the Floor Show Stakes in his previous start.
