Thoroughbred Charities of America Appoints Executive Director

Thoroughbred Charities of America has appointed Liz Harris of Midway, Ky. as executive director. She has served on the TCA board for eight years. Among other fund-raising activities, Harris recently was on the campaign steering committee for The Lexington School, helping raise $5.5 million. She was also in the Lexington Philharmonic Guild for five years. Prior to her relocation to Kentucky, she started, owned, and managed E.F. Realty in New York for 11 years. Harris presently owns Speedbeam Wireless with her husband, J. P. Harris.

TCA is generally recognized as the largest Thoroughbred fund raising organization in the United States. TCA works both independently and with other independent groups to raise funds, which are allocated to non-profit organizations that work to improve the lives of racehorses and the people who work with them.

The other board members of TCA include Amy Adkins, Dr. Michael Cavey, Kathleen Crompton, Allaire duPont, Dan Hall, Gretchen Jackson, Michael Levy, Bob Manfuso, Herb and Ellen Moelis, Jim Moran, Dr. James Orsini, Dan Rosenberg, and Rob Whiteley.
