Icantgoforthat, overlooked at odds of 22-1 under substitute jockey Joe Steiner, led all the way in winning the $96,825 Daisycutter Handicap for older fillies and mares at five furlongs on the Del Mar grass course Friday.
Icantgoforthat, a California-bred daughter of
In Excess who was seventh in the 2003 inaugural of the Daisycutter 'Cap, held on gamely in the final sixteenth to win by three-quarters of a length in a fast :55 4/5.
Market Garden rallied for second to nose outsider Lady General for the place spot. Even-money choice Belleski finished fourth in the field of eight.
Icantgoforthat, representing owners Andy Broberg and Palmer Knapp and trained by Steve Knapp, returned $46.40 after her seventh win in 32 starts. First money was $59,175.
Steiner replaced David Flores aboard Icantgoforthat. Flores reportedly injured his shoulder slightly in the fifth race.
Since there were no perfect tickets in the Pick Six, Saturday's pool will have a carryover of $146,530.
