Thoroughbred Charities of America July 30 made the final $10,000 payment of its capital campaign pledge to the Belmont Child Care Association.

The total pledge was $50,000, which is being used to subsidize children who attend Anna House, the early childhood education center on the backside of Belmont Park operated by the Child Care Association.

The BCCA was formed in late 1998 to create a child-care center at the racetrack. Anna House opened in January 2003. It is named after one of Eugene and Laura Melnyk's daughter, the couple contributing $1 million toward its construction.
