Bowman's Band to Maryland Stallion Station for 2005

Bowman's Band, a 6-year-old grade II stakes winner of more than $1.1 million, will be retired at the end of 2004 and will stand at the Maryland Stallion Station's new facility as the property of Martin S. Schwartz and Maryland Stallion Station.

In 28 starts to date, the son of Dixieland Band has run 17 triple-digit Beyer speed figures, including a 115 in this year's Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) in a narrow loss to Pico Central.

He is scheduled to race through the remainder of the year, with the Aug. 7 Whitney Handicap (gr. I) at Saratoga a possibility for his next start for trainer H. Allen Jerkens.

Bowman's Band is from the immediate female family of recent graded stakes winner Pollard's Vision. His female family has produced four champions, including successful sire Chief's Crown.

A stud fee for Bowman's Band will be determined at the end of 2004.
