Highway Prospector Motors to Moscarelli Win

Michael Gill's Highway Prospector posted an upset victory in the $100,000 Vincent A. Moscarelli Memorial Handicap at Delaware Park Saturday.

Ridden by Abel Castellano, Jr. for trainer Mark Shuman, the 7-year-old gelding won by a 1 1/4-length score and returned $7.00, $2.80 and $2.10 as the third choice in the field of six.

The 6-5 favorite, Don Six with Jose Caraballo astride, finished second and it was three quarters of a length further back to pacesetter Sing Me Back Home, with Mario Pino aboard, in third.

Highway Prospector ran the six furlongs in 1:09.80 over a fast main track. The Kentucky-bred by Crafty Prospector raised his career record to 13 wins from 49 starts with earnings of
$576,217.
