Behrens, Out of Mind Work

William Clifton Jr.'s Behrens worked a mile over the Oklahoma training track Wednesday. The 6-year-old son of Pleasant Colony is expected to make his next start in the Suburban Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont Park July 4. On a fast track, Behrens completed the mile in 1:39, handily. Behrens won the 1999 renewal of the 1 1/4-mile Suburban and is likely to face Lemon Drop Kid and Almutawakel in this year's race.

Out of Mind, second to Running Stag in the Massachusetts Handicap (gr. II), completed a five-furlong work at Hollywood Park in 1:01, handily. The Richard Mandella trainee is under consideration for the $1-million Sempra Energy Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I) to be run July 9 at Hollywood Park. The 1 1/4-mile race is also expected to include Cat Thief and General Challenge.
