Bob Baffert said Sunday that Jim McIngvale's Actxecutive, runner-up in Saturday's Hollywood Juvenile Championship (gr. II), will make his next start in the Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga on Aug. 21.
Baffert had originally intended to send his exciting prospect Roman Ruler to Saratoga for the Hopeful, but has decided to keep the son of Fusaichi Pegasus at home following a setback and send Actxectuve instead.
The son of Noactor, who finished fourth in the Haggin Stakes in his first start for Baffert after being purchased in early June, finished a game second in the Hollywood
Juvenile, beaten a half-length by the undefeated Chandtrue.
"This was a big turnaround today," Baffert said. "He needs two turns badly. He's sort of one paced and could not quicken with (trainer Bob) Hess' sprinter."
Actxecutuve won his career debut at Calder by 10 1/2 lengths on May 31 for trainer Dave Vivian.
