Angelic Aura Takes Carpenter by a Neck

Sanford Goldfarb and Steve Klesaris' Angelic Aura registered a hard fought neck victory over The Lady's Groom in $100,000 RRM Carpenter Jr. Memorial at Delaware Park Saturday.
Angelic Aura was ridden by Norberto Arroyo Jr. and The Lady's Groom was ridden by John Velazquez. Supah Blitz, with Cornelio Velasquez astride, finished third, beaten a neck and a neck. Angelic Aura returned $6.40 as the second choice in the field of six. He covered the 1 1/16 miles over fast main track 1:43.48.
The Florida-bred trained by Klesaris raised his career record to nine wins from 21 starts with earnings of $281,000. The 4-year-old gelded son of Concerto remains perfect at Delaware Park with a record of three wins from three outings.
