Grade I winner Irgun, who stood the 1999 and 2000 Southern Hemispshere breeding seasons at Furlong Stud in Australia, is scheduled to begin the 2001 season at John T.L. Jones' Walmac International near Lexington. The decision to bring Irgun back to Walmac was due to the success of his first 2-year-olds. It will be Irgun's first Northern Hemisphere season since 1999.

"He had 14 2-year-olds winners last year (2000) in his first North American crop, including the stakes filly Kamaal," said Jones. "That's 56% winners from starters and certainly makes him a stallion worthy of consideration by breeders."

Ten-year-old Irgun (Sunny's Halo -- Late From Lunch, by Secretariat) will stand for $4,000 live foal.
