Precise End, and Zaha came though with their first winners July 15. Champion Lemon Drop Kid's initial winner, Lemon Bar, won at a mile in 1:38.19 at Arlington Park, The colt races as a homebred for Robert and Janice McNair's Stonerside Stable.
A grade I winner, Lemon Drop Kid (
Kingmambo--Charming Lassie, by Seattle Slew) stands at William S. Farish's Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. His 2004 fee was $50,000.
Precise End's first winner, Bold Decision, won at 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06.40 at Belmont Park in his first start. Bred by Sez Who Thoroughbreds, the colt races for Buckram Oak Farm.
A grade III winner, Precise End (End Sweep--Precisely, by Summing) stands at Lakland North near Hudson, N.Y. His 2004 fee was $6,000.
Zaha's first winner won at Leicester in England. His daughter, Marcela Zabala, scored at five furlongs in 1:01.04. Bred by A. Smith, she races for Zaha Racing Syndicate.
A major Canadian stakes winner, Zaha (Kingmambo--Play all Day, by Steady Growth) stands at Collin Stud near Newmarket, England. His 2004 fee was £3,500.
