Lion Cavern, whose 18 stakes winners include multiple European champion Crimplene, has been sold to Elia Stud Farm in Greece. A full brother to leading sire Gone West, he stood the past season for a syndicate at Hilary Boone Jr.'s Wimbledon Farm near Lexington.
Crimplene was a champion in England, Germany, and Ireland. Lion Cavern's other stakes winners include Italian champion Silent Tribute and a multiple Yugoslavian champion.
Fifteen-year-old Lion Cavern (Mr. Prospector--Secrettame, by Secretariat) won the True North Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont and was a group winner in England and group I-placed in both England and France.
