The July 11 Texas Stallion Stakes on closing day at Lone Star Park resembled another family reunion for 2-year-old sons of Texas stallion Valid Expectations. A month earlier, in the June 12 TTA Sales Futurity, the stallion's sons Expect Will, Expect Wings, Leaving On My Mind, and Valid Virtue finished one through four in the five-furlong stakes. In the Texas Stallion Stakes, it was Expect Will winning again, followed by Leaving On My Mind and Expect Wings finishing second and third, respectively, and Valid Virtue fifth. Bred by William S. Farish, Expect Will remains unbeaten in four starts for Heiligbrodt Racing Stable and has earned $171,942.Valid Expectations (Valid Appeal--Mepache, by Iron Constitution) moved from Florida to Texas for the 2000 breeding season. Currently the sire of 13 stakes winners, he stands at Farish's Lane's End Texas near Hempstead.
