Heritage of Gold continued preparing for an expected rematch with 1999 older filly and mare champion
Beautiful Pleasure in the $250,000 Go For Wand Handicap (gr. I), breezing four furlongs at Churchill Downs Wednesday. Entering the sloppy track just after the renovation break, Heritage of Gold covered the distance in :49 1/5 seconds with Shane Sellers in the irons.
"She's in a little bit of a let down period," said trainer Tom Amoss. "Temperament is always something we're concerned about with her. So, she doesn't need to keep that race attitude that she can get when she's not going to run for another month and a half."
The Go For Wand is a 1 1/8-mile race to be run at Saratoga on July 30.
