Prominent Australia sire Success Express, best remembered in North America as the winner of the 1987 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), has been relocated to Vinery in New South Wales in Australia.
The 19-year-old stallion (Hold Your Peace--Au Printemps, by Dancing Champ) has sired eight group I winners and enters into what must surely be a golden period of his already illustrious career. The best mares he has ever served went to him in 2002, 2003, and will also this year. And given that he has sired a Golden Slipper winner (Australia's premier 2-year-old race) and seven other group I winners. including his incredibly pre-potent champion freshman sire Mossman, he comes to the Hunter Valley with a great deal of clout surrounding him.
Success Express continues to prove a source of high quality winners in Australasia, boasting a glorious 74% winners-to-runners, including 28 career stakes winners and total progeny earnings of AUST$18.5million. Success Express, who formerly stood at Chatswood Stud, is nominated for the popular BOBS scheme and will stand for a fee of Aust$11,000 (approximately $7,850). By Ric Chapman
