Pohave, winner of the $150,000 Los Angeles Times Handicap (gr. III) at Hollywood Park on May 8, is the 116-pound top weight among 14 entrants in the $300,000 Triple Bend Invitational Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. I) at seven furlongs.

Pohave has blossomed since joining the barn of trainer Doug O'Neill last fall with a 3-2-2 record in eight starts. His win in the six-furlong Los Angeles Times in a time of 1:08 was the 6-year-old gray gelding's first in a graded stakes race.

Pohave was third in his last start behind Speightstown, the convincing winner of the True North Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont Park on June 5.

The field lacks any clear standouts. Reba's Gold, owned by television quiz show host Alex Trebek's Creston Farms, is the most accomplished runner in the field with earnings of $702,422 from an 8-7-7 mark in 35 lifetime starts. Reba's Gold was a tiring fourth in the 1 1/8-mile Seabiscuit Handicap (gr. III) at Bay Meadows on Memorial Day, his initial start of the year.

Kela won the Texas Mile (gr. III) by more than five lengths for trainer Mike Mitchell April 24 before returning to Lone Star Park to finish fourth as the 6-5 choice in the Memorial Day Lone Star Park Handicap (gr. III).
