Lovely Journey, a 2-year-old filly by Helmsman was sold for $110,000 to top Tuesday's Barretts Summer Sale of Horses of Racing Age and 2-Year-Old in Training at Fairplex Park in Pomona, California.

Barretts Equine Ltd. reported 93 horses were sold for $1,254,800, averaging $13,492, with a median price of $8,000.

The sale-topper was purchased by Howard Roberts Farm from the Havens Bloodstock Agency consignment. Produced from the winning Commadore C. mare Spin Around, the sale-topper is a full sister to multiple stakes winner Hooting Star and to grade III winner Mountain Top.

The second-highest priced horse sold and highest-priced horse of racing age sold was Rockin the Ship, who was purchased by G. Chris Coleman was sold for $70,000 from the consignment of B.C.3. Thoroughbreds, agent for Galley Farms.

The leading purchaser was Howard Roberts Farm, which purchased two head for $135,000. The leading consignor was Mary Knight, who sold 22 horses for $374,000.
