Harrah's Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, La., has rejoined the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.

"Increased participation has an extremely positive impact on our programs, our industry, and the fans," NTRA commissioner Tim Smith said in a June 29 release. "We're happy to have Louisiana Downs back as an active member, and we look forward to working with its staff in the future."

Louisiana Downs is controlled by Las Vegas-based Harrah's Entertainment, which acquired a 95% interest in the racetrack in December 2002. The current 102-session Thoroughbred meet began May 14 and continues through Oct. 31, with a 20-day Quarter Horse meet to follow from Nov. 10-Dec. 12.
