One For Rose On Top Again in Ontario Matron Stronach Stable's solid stakes-winning mare Winning Chance has faced reigning older female Sovereign Award champion One For Rose in five of her last six starts, including Sunday's $175,750 Ontario Matron Stakes at Woodbine, and finished second each time.Winning Chance brought her "A" game again in the 1 1/16-mile event, but One For Rose was simply better. Jockey Emile Ramsammy guided the 5-year-old Tejano Run mare to the 1 ½-length win for trainer Sid Attard and owner Tucci Stables, in a running time of 1:44.22."I'm very happy, she beat her arch rival again," Ramsammy beamed. "I was scared of Winning Chance, she's a nice filly, look at the way she won last time."One For Rose, who beat Winning Chance four straight times from September 1 to November 27, 2003, collected $114,187 for her Ontario Matron win to raise career earnings to $691,399.One For Rose paid $4.10 and $2.30 in a race that featured no show or trifecta wagering.
