The New York Racing Association will use United Tote as its new tote provider beginning in November, a United Tote spokesman confirmed Friday.

United Tote replaces Autotote, which had a contract with NYRA for more than 20 years. Autotote's parent company, Scientific Games Corp. said the loss of the NYRA contract would impact the company's earnings by about one cent a share. The company's price per share closed on the NASDAQ market Thursday at $18, which was down 85 cents.

Autotote was at the forefront of the 2002 Breeders' Cup pick six scandal, at which time the company processed about 65% of all wagers in North America. A software engineer for Autotote, Chris Harn, altered a winning pick six ticket worth $3.1 million. He was sentenced to one-year in jail and has since been released.

Phone calls to the NYRA executive office were not immediately returned.
