Love You Madly turned the tables on the overwhelming favorite and won Saturday's $50,000 Skipat Stakes at Pimlico.
French Jeanette, the 7-10 favorite, finished last.
Under jockey Jozbin Santana, Love You Madly, a 10-1 shot, completed the six furlong distance in 1:11.59 and paid $22.20.
Leavn Ona Jetplane (15-1) tore away to a 2-1/2 length lead down the backstretch. When the pacesetter began to shorten strides coming to the eighth pole, Love You Madly rushed by, with another longshot Wallop (11-1) in close pursuit. Wallop could not catch the winner and finished second, three-quarters of a length behind. Leavn Ona Jetplane held onto third.
The exacta paid $136.20, while the triple was worth $1,108.40.
The 4-year old daughter of
Partner's Hero is now four-for-six since being transferred to trainer Mike Trombetta's barn 13 months ago.
French Jeannette, who brought a four-for-five record in 2004 into the race, raced between rivals mid-way on the turn but failed to respond.
