Longtime farrier Clark Holden, who most recently worked in Dubai for Godolphin Racing, died Wednesday at his home in Oldsmar, Fl. He was 65.Holden began working for Godolphin last year but recently returned to his stateside home because of cancer. Holden worked at racetracks in Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey, and Louisiana. Among his clients were trainers Bernie Flint, Dallas Stewart, and D. Wayne Lukas.Before becoming a farrier Holden was a rodeo rider. He was a member of the Rodeo Cowboys Association and competed in many of the sport's most prestigious events, including the National Finals Rodeo. He was a top-15 Saddle Bronc rider.
