Tapit, breezed Wednesday at Tapeta Farm.
Wood Memorial (gr. I) winner Tapit breezed six furlongs on the turf at Tapeta Farm Wednesday, four days after breezing a slow five furlongs in 1:07 2/5 on the dirt. Working in company with two other horses, Tapit was timed in 1:15 2/5.

With exercise rider John Ferriday aboard, the son of Pulpit   broke off behind a pair of workmates and finished a length in front.

Tapit was unable to handle the muddy track in the Kentucky Derby (gr. I), finishing ninth in the 18-horse field.

Trainer Michael Dickinson assured that the colt will be fit for the mile and a half Belmont.

Todd Pletcher, trainer of Peter Pan (gr. II) winner Purge, said he still has not made any decisions whether or not to run the colt back two weeks later in the Belmont. Pletcher said a lot will depend on how Smarty Jones is doing, as well as the overall well-being of his colt, who was beaten by Smarty Jones in the Rebel and Arkansas Derby (gr. II). Pletcher points out that Purge was coming off only two sprints in his career, one this year, and has shown great improvement since coming to Belmont Park.
