Five fillies and mares owned by Team Valor and partners have been imported to the U. S. from South Africa and will be sent to the organization's private trainer Ralph Nicks at Saratoga after spending two months in quarantine.
Two of the imports--Warning Zone, the champion filly at 2 last season, and stakes winner Secret Heart--ran for Team Valor once before leaving South Africa. Warning Zone ran third in a mile group 1 race and Secret Heart was second in the Prix du Cap, the same race she won last year.
According to Team Valor, Secret Heart's half-sister Promisefrommyheart seems likely to be named champion filly after winning a pair of group 1 races at a mile. One of the imports, stakes winner Gathering Storm, is a half-sister to Tornado King who improved his record to seven wins in eight starts when he won the Drill Hall Stakes (Saf-II).
Completing the group for Team Valor are Tara's Touch, the champion 3-year-old who is owned in partnership with Margaux Farm in Midway, Kentucky, and Jacaranda Jane, a filly who won her only start at two.
