Emerald Downs Hikes Overnight Purses 5%

Emerald Downs announced Wednesday that overnight purses would be increased by 5% effective June 3.

"We're delighted to be able to make this announcement," said track President Ron Crockett. "The purse increase reflects a positive trend for racing this season. We are definitely headed in the right direction."

Emerald Downs is enjoying a successful start to the 2004 live racing season with a 9% increase in daily on-track handle.

The purse increase will be retroactive to the first day of racing, Crockett said.
