Callaway Named Scholarship Winner

Christopher Fielding Callaway was named today the 2004 Fred Russell-Grantland Rice TRA Sports Writing Scholarship winner to Vanderbilt.

The four-year scholarship is co-sponsored by the university and the Thoroughred Racing Association and awarded each year to a high school student interested in sports writing.

Callaway is an honor student and the sports reporter and columns editor for the paper at his high school, The Westminster School in Atlanta.

The scholarship honors Vandy alum Grantland Rice and Fred Russell, both well-known sports writers. Rice died in 1954; Russell in 2003.
