Jean-Pierre DeRoubaix of the French Bloodstock Agency announced that the Turkish Jockey Club has purchased West by West, Marlin, Fantastic Fellow, Bijou d'Inde, and Bin Ajwaad for stallion duty at the Turkish National Stud near Izmit. A consultant to the Turkish Jockey Club, DeRoubaix acted with the assistance of Narvick International in purchasing West by West, Marlin, and Fantastic Fellow, and with the help of the English division of the British Bloodstock Agency in securing Bijou d'Inde and Bin Ajwaad.Eleven-year-old West by West (Gone West -- West Turn, by Cox's Ridge) is scheduled to arrive in Turkey in early January from Haras de la Pomme in Argentina. Millionaire West by West, who ranks among the leading third-crop sires by 2000 progeny earnings, stood the Northern Hemisphere season at John T.L. Jones Jr.'s Walmac International near Lexington. He is represented by nine stakes winners.Millionaire Marlin also stood at Haras de la Pomme, and is expected to arrive in Turkey with West by West. Seven-year-old Marlin (Sword Dance -- Syrian Summer, by Damascus) stood the Northern Hemisphere season at Mr. and Mrs. Brereton C. Jones' Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky.Six-year-old Fantastic Fellow (Lear Fan -- Chateaubaby, by Nureyev) has arrived in Turkey. A graded stakes winner, he formerly stood at Graham J. Beck's Gainesway Farm near Lexington.English group I winner Bijou d'Inde (Cadeaux Genereux -- Pushkar, by Northfields) is scheduled to arrive from Glenmorgan Stud in New Zealand the last week in December. The 7-year-old stallion stood the Northern Hemisphere season at Woodland Stud near Newmarket, England.Ten-year-old Bin Ajwaad (Rainbow Quest -- Salidar, by Sallust) has arrived in Turkey. An Irish group winner and classic-placed in England and France, Bin Ajwaad formerly stood at Woodditton Stud near Newmarket
