For Our Sake Confirmed For Queen's Plate

Following a satisfactory workout Wednesday morning, trainer Roger Attfield confirmed For Our Sake will run in Sunday's Queen's Plate. Breezing over a Woodbine track labeled good, the son of Alydeed covered five furlongs in :59 flat.

"It was a question of how he would do in his work and how he would come out of it," said Attfield. "We were delighted to see that he worked so well. His ears were pricked and he did it all on his own. He thoroughly enjoyed himself."

For Our Sake has been plagued this season by allergies, which has resulted in the presence of fluid in his lungs following some workouts and races. Attfield said the colt was scoped following the workout and did not appear to have any problems.

According to Woodbine officials, 17 sophomores are now being pointed toward the $1-million race that is Canada's equivalent to the Kentucky Derby.
